Our Range
Tuffboard flooring
At Tūtus Trailers & Floats, we use a specially customised Tuffboard flooring system in our horse floats. Tuffboard is a high-strength PVC composite material that is waterproof, rust-resistant, easy to clean, and highly suited to the climate conditions of New Zealand and wider Oceania.
Compared with traditional plywood, aluminium, and honeycomb fibreglass flooring, Tuffboard offers excellent strength, durability, and resistance to moisture and corrosion. This type of material is also widely used internationally in large-scale construction projects such as tunnel, airport, and concrete formwork systems due to its high load-bearing performance.
Our Tuffboard flooring has been specially developed and customised by the manufacturer to meet the structural and performance requirements of our horse floats. The full sheet sits directly on the chassis and is covered with a thick rubber mat for added strength, shock absorption, and improved comfort for horses’ hooves.
We also offer traditional aluminium, honeycomb fibreglass, and plywood flooring options, and we’re always happy to customise a float to suit your needs.
